The Livingston Theatre Company offers plenty of ways to get involved in our outstanding productions. We pride ourselves on the fact that all of our staff, management, actors, and crews are student led and populated. There are always multiple ways to get involved with our company. Everyone is always inviting new members, so we hope you choose to join our family.
This is the most popular and traditional route to involvement in LTC. Since LTC puts on only musicals, actors are expected to be able to act and sing, and usually dance too! Find out more information about auditioning, dates, and what you need to do on the Audition Page.
Are you a natural leader? Do you have a vision for a show that LTC is producing that you want to see come to life? With positions varying from Director to Choreographer and a plethora of design positions available, these people bring a show to life. A show's production staff is directly responsible for the artistic integrity of the company. Learn more about various positions here.
Work behind the scenes to make sure that the show goes off without a hitch. Being on a run, build, painting, or wardrobe crew (just to name a few) is a great way to get involved with minimal commitment (weekends and tech week). This is a great way to get your foot in the door and find out more about LTC and theater as a whole. It is often the dedication of the crew that sets the caliber of the performances. Learn about the crews here.
What's a musical without music? Musicians are integral to our shows. The orchestra rehearses on its own schedule as well as at a few pit rehearsals before tech week. Pit members must be available to play at all performances. The conductor of the orchestra is usually the Musical Director of the show who has worked with the cast through the 5-7 week rehearsal process. To be a Musical Director, apply for a specific production via the Production Staff Application. If you play an instrument and would like to play in an orchestra, please send an email with your name, instruments, availability, and contact information to music@ruLTC.org. If you play the piano LTC is always in need of talented accompanists for auditions and special events throughout the year.
An usher for LTC serves as a direct link between the company and the audience when they arrive at a performance. You will be serving as an ambassador for the theatre as well as a host to our patrons of the evening. As an added bonus, volunteering as an usher for a production means you get to see that performance for free! Email boxoffice@ruLTC.org to usher a show.
